Nana, that’s a LOT of sand!

“How Precious are Your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them: they outnumber the grains of sand!” Psalm 139:17-18

My three year old grandson was overjoyed today because I filled both of his sandboxes up with new sand. We’ve had so much rain recently that he hasn’t been able to play in his sand, so he was extremely excited. In fact, he has spent almost the entire afternoon scooping and pouring, loading and unloading dump trucks, and building trenches. I think my sweet boy has sand covering very inch of his body! He will probably need a shower just to get the sand off and then another one to get clean! While we were digging trenches, we talked about how one piece of sand is called a grain. We wondered how many grains of sand were in his sandbox, in his truck, and in his hair. He couldn’t come up with an exact number, but he said, “Nana, it’s a LOT of sand!” I told him about the verses above, and we talked about how much God thinks about us and how much He loves us. Just as we could never begin to count the number of grains of sand in the world, we can never count the thoughts God has toward us because of His great love!
