Facing the Crashing Waves

It seems as if everywhere I turn, people are going through difficulties.  Those hardships come in so many forms and in such varying degrees.  Some stresses are minor, but some are overwhelming.  Some are just frustrating on their own, but when combined with a myriad of other problems, they become a crashing wave that we just do not have the strength to tackle.  Part of becoming victorious over our difficulties is to keep them in their proper perspective.  We cannot allow our difficulties to consume us because when we do, they get rooted inside of our minds and take over.  Once they have hold of our minds, they become larger than life and we will never find victory over them. Most of us probably already know these facts, but we don’t really know how to carry this out.  The only way to keep the negative out is to make sure we are overflowing with the positive.

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.” Philippians 4:8

When we fill our minds with the things of Christ, there is no room for the negative things of this world.  When we fill our minds with the things of Christ, everything stays in its proper perspective.  When we fill our minds with the things of Christ, those crashing waves will cease. When we fill our minds with the things of Christ, we can face anything and everything this world throws at us in victory.
