Restoring Bones

Posted on: 7-15-112016

“The hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out of in the Spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones.  Then He cause me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry.  And He said to me, ‘Son of man, can these bones live?’ So I answered, ‘O Lord God, You know.’ Again He said to me, ‘Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.  Thus says the Lord God to these bones; Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.  I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live.  Then you shall know that I am the Lord.’ So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone.  Indeed as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over…” Ezekiel 37:1 – 8

Are there any parts of your life that are dry, brittle, and completely without life?  Are there parts of your life that you have given up hope of ever seeing restored?  Are there parts of your life that you think are beyond repair?  Are there parts of your life that you feel are too far gone for even God, Himself, to revive?  If the answer to any or all of these questions are “yes” then I pray that the Scripture above spoke directly to you.  If God can restore dry, brittle bones to show that He is the Lord, then how much more so does He want to restore you to show you that He is the Lord?  God is just waiting to breathe life into the deadest parts of your life.  He is just waiting to do the impossible in you.  God wants you to know exactly who He is.  Just when you think you are beyond reviving, stop and listen…you may start to hear rattling in the distance!
