Do Not Be Afraid

Posted on: 7-15-112016

One thing that all of us have in common is that we have fears.  Every single one of us has been afraid of someone or something at one time or another.  I’ve read before that there are 365 Bible verses in which God tells us to not be afraid…one for every day of the year.  Why would God give us a verse for every day if not because He knows that we need to constantly be reminded about what to do with our fears?  Our fears can be small and pass quickly or they can be monumental and paralyze us.  Sometimes we face our fears and find out that we made a mountain out of a molehill, but other times, we allow those fears to have their way with us.  There is only one way to overcome fear and that is by focusing on the One who can alleviate them instead of focusing on the fear itself.  God doesn’t want us to live in fear because He knows that fear steals our joy, our peace, our confidence, and our ability to fulfill the purpose He has for us. Guess who else knows those things?  Satan!  He wants nothing more than to trap us in fear because he knows that when we are focused on fear, we cannot be focused on what God has for us.  He knows that we can’t possibly experience joy or peace when our eyes are set on fear.  He knows that fear can strip us of our confidence and when we don’t have confidence, we will never take a step forward.  He knows when fear paralyzes us, we cannot accomplish whatever God has planned for us.  Because of all of these things, Satan is determined to immobilize us in terror!  God doesn’t want us to live this way!  He wants us to trust Him no matter what we are facing.  He wants us to be confident and assured of His ability to take care of us.  What fears are you facing right now?  Lay them at the feet of Jesus and leave them there.  Allow Him to take care of you in a way that no one else can.  Don’t allow Satan to gain any ground in your life! Live boldly and confidently in Christ and you will be the one who sends Satan running away in fear.
