Settling for Less

Posted on: 7-15-112015

Do you ever settle for less than what God intended for you to have?  Do you ever allow your own plans, desires, dreams, time frame, etc. to cause you to settle for less than what He had in store for you?  Do you ever allow your arrogance to allow you to think your way is better only to find out that, in fact, what He had in store for you would’ve been so much more than you could’ve ever imagined?  Do you settle for good when God wanted to give you amazing?  Do you accept ho-hum when Jesus died to give you mind-blowing?  The truth is, we have all settled for less than what God had planned.  We are all guilty of accepting something less than what God had in store.  We have all settled for run of the mill when what God wanted us to have was actually one in a million.  Maybe you accepted a job because it was the first one available instead of waiting on the one God divinely created for you.  Maybe you married the first guy/girl to come along because all of your friends were getting married and the one God chose for you was taking too long to come along…at least according to your time table.  Maybe you stayed at home in your comfort zone instead of going on a mission trip because you were afraid of being in a foreign place where you didn’t know any one or even speak the same language.  Maybe you chose to sacrifice your virginity because you didn’t want to face being made fun of one more day.  Maybe you remained silent when an opportunity to present Christ to someone else came along because you didn’t want to face their rejection.  There are countless number of ways we can settle for less than what God intends for us.  In fact, every single time we sin, we have just settled for less.  He has so much more for us than we will ever understand!  He has more blessings in store for us than we can even count.  He wants to blow our minds with all that He has planned for us.  Walk in obedience to Him and allow Him to lavish you with all that He died to give you!

“I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10
