From the Inside Out

“The world will be changed from the inside out”  Dr. Waylon Bailey

This is a quote from our pastor’s sermon this morning.  His point to us was that if the world is going to be changed for Jesus, the change has to start with us, the Church.  Unless we, as Christians, totally and completely surrender ourselves to Christ and allow Him to transform us into His image, we will never bring the lost to Christ.  If we look like the world, talk like the world, behave like the world, and follow the ways of the world, we will never have the ability to radically change the world for Christ.  If we don’t pray, the lost will never see the power of prayer.  If we don’t study God’s Word, the lost will never have anyone to teach them the Word.  If we don’t thank God in all circumstances, the lost will never have a chance to see how God is good even when the world is crumbling in around them.  If we don’t praise Him, the lost will never see the characteristics of God worthy of being praised.  If we don’t trust Him no matter what comes our way, the lost will never have the opportunity to see genuine, authentic faith lived out.  If we don’t allow God to come to life in us, the lost will never catch a glimpse of who He is or what He can do.  It is up to us to live in such a way that God is made known, for if the lost never has a chance to know Him, they will never have the chance to be saved by His amazing love.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.  Matthew 5:16
