My son is on a cruise with a friend and his family this week for their Mardi Gras break.  He’s been gone since Sunday evening and won’t be home until Saturday.  I’m very excited that he was able to go on a cruise (it’s his first), but it’s been a long week with him being away from home.  I miss him a lot and can’t wait to see him in a couple of days.  In much the same way as I miss my son, God misses us when we’re away from Him.  When we allow ourselves to become so busy we fail to spend time with Him or when we distance ourselves from Him for whatever reason, He misses us!  Just as I love my son and want to be with him, God loves us and desires to spend time with us.  He enjoys our company and wants a close relationship with us.  He wants us to share our ups and downs with Him.  He wants to know our hopes, our dreams, our fears, and our concerns.  He wants us to confidently come before Him, knowing that He is there for us.  He wants to be involved in every aspect of our lives…from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows and all the points in between.  Let it sink in…God loves you and wants to spend time with you.  He delights in you!  He enjoys your company!  He thinks you are amazing!  He is proud of you!  He rejoices because you are His. If it’s been a while since you’ve spent some time with Him, know with complete confidence that He misses you and is looking forward to seeing you again!

“And I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him.” Proverbs 8:30

He Misses You
