Aside

Last night in my blog I talked about Samson and David and how a big part of their victory was won just by showing up. Our “showing up” may not be on a battlefield against 1000 Philistines with only a donkey’s jawbone to defend ourselves or standing face to face against a giant with only a sling and a stone in our hands to defeat him with.  Our “showing up” may look more like walking away from a relationship that is doing more harm than good for us, it may look like swallowing our pride and admitting our mistakes, it may look like forgiving someone who has really hurt us, it may look like standing up for what’s right when no one else around you stands, and it may look like falling on your knees before God to pour your heart out to Him just to name a few.  It’s not easy to “show up” when the odds at stacked against you.  It’s not easy to “show up” when the giant standing before you can crush you in a split second.  It’s not easy to “show up” when you’re all alone.  It’s not easy to “show up” when the world around you “shows up” against you.  However, “showing up” becomes a lot easier when you quit focusing on what you have to do and start focusing on what God has already done and on what He has promised He will do.  Through His death, our victory has already been won, so we have no need to worry about the outcome of our situation.  He has promised us that He will never leave us or forsake us, so we know He will be right there with us no matter what we face.  He has promised us that He will watch over us and protect us so we have no need to fear. No matter what the situation God is calling you to “show up” in is, His strength is more than enough to carry you through.

“And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness…” 2 Corinthians 12:9

His Strength is Enough
