The Faith of A Child

Posted on: 7-15-112013

One of my children’s favorite things to do when they were young was to go swimming.  They could spend hours in the water and still not want to leave when it was time to go.  I have so many pictures of them when they were just learning to swim jumping off the side of the pool into the arms of their dad.  They had absolutely no fear nor apprehension about jumping into the water because they knew their dad was their to catch them.  They would bail off without a shred of worry about what would happen to them if he didn’t catch them because the thought that he wouldn’t catch them never entered their mind.  They had complete faith in his ability to protect them and keep them safe.  They knew he loved them and would never let anything happen to them.  They trusted him with their very lives without even the slightest hesitation.  They never questioned his ability to catch them…they simply believed in his ability to catch them. In much the same way, we can trust our heavenly Father to protect us and keep us safe.  No matter what situations we face, we can have complete faith that He is there with His arms open wide, waiting to catch us.  We do not have to be afraid of or fear the unknown because God is already there.  We can trust that He loves us and will never let anything happen to us.  He will always do what’s best for us.  We can have faith that He will always be there for us….the childlike faith that doesn’t doubt or question, but simply trusts.

“Assuredly I say to you whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” Mark 10:15
