The Love of the Father

Posted on: 7-15-112012

Last night, my daughter and I went to visit a lady who works with us and her brand new baby girl.  As I sat holding this sweet little bundle of joy, I could not help but think about how precious her life is to God who created her.  He is the God who has known her longer than anyone…even longer than her mom.  In fact, He knew her before He even formed the world.  He knew every single detail of her blessed entrance into this world, just as He knows every single detail of her entire life.  He is the God who has plans for her beyond anything we can even think or imagine.  He is the God who will fight for her with more passion than anyone.  He is the God who will always have her best interest in heart.  He is the God who will never leave her nor forsake her.  He is the God who will walk beside her in the good times and pick her up and carry her through the bad times.  He is the God who will rejoice over her first steps, her first words, her first day of school, etc. just as we who love her will.  He is the God who will wrap His arms around her and hug her when the world doesn’t go as she thought it would.  He is the One who will never give up on her no matter what.  He is the God who loves her unconditionally…so much so that He sent His precious little boy to die in her place on the cross.  And the beauty of all of this is that all of this is equally as true about each and every one of us.  He has known us and loved us since the beginning of time.  We can search the world over, but we will never find anything to compare to the love of our Father.

“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.  I will praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.  Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.  My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest part of the earth.  Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.”  Psalm 139:13-16
