Who Is Your Role Model?

Posted on: 7-15-112012

Today I taught a class at work.  One of the things we discussed was role models.  Each person in the class told who their role model was and why that person was their role model.  One of the ladies in the class had a great answer.  She said that Jesus was her role model because He was a person who served others and He met people right where they were and helped them to become better people.  She is absolutely correct!  When you think about it, who could possibly be a better role model than Jesus?  As Christians, we’ve been called to be imitators of Christ…we are supposed to model our life after Him.  Can you imagine what the world would be like if we modeled our behavior after Him all the time?  Imagine how many people we could help along the way.  Imagine how many lives could be made better if we imitated His behavior.  Imagine what would happen if we lived a life of service to others instead of putting ourselves first.  When we read about Jesus and His interactions with people, we clearly see that He had a tremendous impact on each person He encountered.  Through Him, we can have that same type of influence in the world we live in.  The only thing we have to do is allow Him to be our role model and imitate His behavior.

“Therefore I urge you, imitate me.”  1 Corinthians 4:16
