He Gives Us Hope

Posted on: 7-15-112011

Each of us face circumstances and situations in our life that are utterly gut-wrenching and heartbreaking.  We may feel their impending doom coming on, or we may be caught totally off guard.  Our own choices and decisions may play a part in these trials, but sometimes they are the result of someone else’s actions and decisions.  None of that really matters, however, when we come face-to-face with these times.  At the time, we can’t think about anything except how to take our next breath!  The darkness of the tribulation envelops us in every direction.  The weight from our brokenness causes us to feel as if we’re drowning.  We look for help, but often feel as if we’re completely alone.  We believe that we’ve been abandoned, and we have no one to pull us out of the pit of despair.  However, there is someone who can pull us from the miry pit and sit our feet on solid ground again.  There is a friend who will never leave us or abandon us.  There is one who can rescue us.  There is one we need to call on when we face the darkest days of our lives.  For He is the One who gives us the one thing we need most of all when we face the worst situations and circumstances we can imagine…He gives us hope!  And as long as we have hope, we can endure!  We can fight the battle another day!  We can overcome!

“I will lift up my eye to the hills – from whence comes my help?  My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.  Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.  The Lord is your keeper, the Lord is your shade at your right hand.  The sun shall not strike you by day nor the moon by night.  The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.  The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even furthermore.” Psalm 121:1 – 8
