What Kind of Witness Are You?

Posted on: 7-15-112011

Last night, I wrote about the fact that we are the “stones” that fit together to build the temple of God. Tonight, I want to look at the fact that we’re “stones” from
a different angle. In the Old Testament, we find that when something very important happened, people often made a memorial of stones to ensure that they would remember the event. As people passed the stones, they were reminded of what had transpired there. Basically, the stones bore witness to something extraordinary. Therefore, if our lives are the living stones that symbolize God, what are we saying about Him? When people “pass by” our life, do they recognize that something extraordinary has happened there? Do our lives bear witness of something extraordinary?

“And Joshua said to all the people, ‘Behold, this stone shall be a witness to us, for it has heard all the words of the Lord which He spoke to us. It shall therefore be a witness to you, lest you deny your God.” Joshua 24:27
