Time is of the Essence

Posted on: 7-15-112011

Do you ever think about the fact that you are one day closer to meeting God than you were yesterday? The gap gets smaller and smaller every single day until you meet the Creator of heaven and earth face to face. For some this realization brings true joy because God is not just religion to them, but the most important relationship in their lives. To others, these facts have absolutely no significance at all because they do not believe in God at all. But there’s another group who may tremble with fear when they realize the fact that they’re going to meet God. These are the one who believe that God exists, but, when the truth is told, they know that they have not given God the respect and honor He deserves. For those of us in the first group, there is absolutely nothing wrong with living on anxious anticipation of meeting the One who gave His life for us. However, we can’t live as if the second two groups don’t exist. We have to recognize the fact that, just as our time gets shorter before meeting God, our time gets shorter for helping them come to know Christ as their Savior. Each day that we waste by not being a witness for Christ is a day that we no longer have! Our time here is limited! We must make the most of every single day and every single opportunity. So, let’s get busy…time is of the essence!

“Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” Matthew 9:37
