5683 ya

A few months ago, I heard a really touching story on the KLOVE radio station.  It was a story about one of the families that listens to the station.  I can’t remember all the details exactly, but I do remember the best part!  The mom of the family had called in to tell the story of how KLOVE had helped her family.  Her son had been in an accident and was in very critical condition in the hospital.  The doctors didn’t know if he would survive or not.  She was devastated, needless to say.  She spent a long time praying over her son and ended by asking God to just give her a sign to let her know her son would be okay.  She then stepped out of the room to get some water while the nurse checked her son’s vitals.  Suddenly, the nurse came running out in the hall and asked the mom if “5683 ya” meant anything to her.  The mom froze and then asked the nurse to repeat what she said.  The nurse repeated, “Does 5683 ya mean anything to you?”  The mom knew at that very moment that God had answered her.  Their family had been saying “5683 ya” ever since they started listening to KLOVE.  Her son had come up with the expression because the radio station’s phone number’s last 4 digits were 5683 which spelled out LOVE.  So, he came up with the phrase “5683 ya” to tell everyone he loved them.  It caught on and the whole family started saying it.  When the mom heard that her son had said that phrase, she knew he was going to be okay. And she was right…he fully recovered!  I wanted to share this story with you because I want you to know that God 5683s you, too!  His love for you is deeper than anything you can even imagine.  He loves you so much that He put a plan into action long before you were even born to show that love to you.  He loves you so much that He made the ultimate sacrifice for you…He gave His one and only Son for you.  He allowed His Son to go to the cross in your place, to pay the debt of your sin, to suffer on your behalf, and to die so that you could live!  You can search the world over and you will never find a more perfect love than the love that God has for you.  As you reflect on that, listen closely…you very well may hear His voice saying to you, “5683 ya!”

“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sin.” 1 John 4:10
