Facing the Impossible

Posted on: 7-15-112011

Have you ever faced a situation that seemed to be hopeless and impossible to overcome? If your heart has been beating for very long, you’ve probably faced many of these situations. Sometimes they are circumstances that seem impossible to get through, sometimes they are in the form of people who are impossible to deal with, and sometimes the heat is really on and it is both a situation and people who we’re having to deal with. At times these hopeless difficulties occur because of poor choices we make, but at times, their occurrence is not our fault at all. We can get so stressed out and so overwhelmed by these circumstances that we make the situation even worse. When we feel like any situation is hopeless, we can be assured that we have taken our eyes off of God. We have let our circumstances become our focus. When we keep our eyes on Christ, our impossible situation suddenly doesn’t seem so impossible. It loses its grip on us and we suddenly have hope. Many times I’ve heard people say, “Instead of telling God how big your circumstance is, tell your circumstance how big your God is.” This is so true…our God is bigger than anything we will ever face. He can handle anything that comes our way. We just have to keep our eyes on Him and allow Him the opportunity to take care of us and of our impossible situations.

“But Jesus looked at them and said to them, ‘With men this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
